Nearly three in ten Romanian teens have asked their parents to remove photos or videos posted online about them.
This is the highest rate among 19 European countries surveyed in the EU Kids Online 2020 report. In Romania, 29% of adolescents aged 12–16 made such requests.
Some asked multiple times a year, with 11% requesting removals at least monthly. Other countries like Malta and Serbia follow, but nowhere near Romania's level.
The study highlights the emotional impact "sharenting" has on young people, who sometimes feel exposed or mocked because of parental posts.
